The Second Youth Internet Governance Forum (Youth RIGF 2022) continues to expand its geographical reach. Most participants are students at Russian universities from all around the country. The Youth RIGF will gather young people living in many different federal subjects, from Moscow, where the Forum will take place, to Irkutsk. The regions with the biggest number of applications submitted are Saint Petersburg, Yaroslavl Oblast, Amur Oblast, Altai Krai, Astrakhan Oblast, Vladimir Oblast, Voronezh Oblast, the Republic of Tatarstan, Kaliningrad Oblast, Zabaykalsky Krai, Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, Tomsk Oblast, Sakhalin Oblast, Irkutsk Oblast, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Murmansk Oblast, and Sverdlovsk Oblast as well as Moscow.
As for the universities, the data are interesting as well. Those who have registered for the Forum are not only students at technical universities, such as BMSTU, MTUCI, NRNU MEPhI and MIPT, but also students at universities for humanities—PRUE, MSLU, RUDN, the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian MFA and MGIMO—which proves that all young people, regardless of their specializations and branches of study, take interest in the topic of Internet governance, that is, in fact, not solely a technical subject.
Students at Saint Petersburg State University, P. G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University, A. N. Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University, Don State Technical University, N. G. Chernyshevsky Saratov State University and many other regional universities are actively submitting applications as well.
It is planned to translate all Forum sessions into English so that international audience can engage too. The Forum's organizers are interested in engaging the maximum number of young people from abroad, IT professionals and experts in all kinds of humanities subject areas. Representatives of international organizations and specialized expert communities are welcome to join the Forum as well.
