The President has set the task of ensuring the technological independence of the country. How it will be ensured depends largely on the young people who are involved in IT. Youth are called upon to become the driver of digital transformation in Russia. Our government systematically supports the IT industry, by endorsing modern educational programmes, courses, thematic events, conferences and forums. To see prospects of development it is crucial to involve young people in a dialogue about the future of the Internet."

The session "Create Not Download: National Content" was dedicated to the fight against online piracy and the potential of domestic online creativity after the departure of Western platforms and production studios from Russia. Question concerning safe behavior on the Web, as well as the dangers of the hidden sides of the Internet, was raised as part of the session "Whirl of the Darknet: Protection from the "Dark Forces" of the Web." And the session "IT Volunteers and Information Security: Digital Innovation for the Benefit of Society", facilitated the discussion on new types of voluntary assistance, which can be a great start to a career in high technology.

Commenting on the results of the Youth RIGF director of the Center for Global IT-Cooperation Vadim Glushchenko said: "We are very pleased that every year our forum attracts more and more young participants. This means that the future of the Internet worries our youth like never before, which is why in choosing key themes of the Forum we try to take into account most relevant trends. And, of course, we constantly ask the opinion of the users themselves. Our main task is to connect already established IT professionals with beginners, as well as to help young people to establish good horizontal connections. After all, the future of the Internet is in the hands of new generations."

On the sidelines of Youth RIGF, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Center for Global IT Cooperation and the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC). Both parties agreed to develop and promote joint IT approaches and initiatives to educate young people.

"We are close to the goals and values of the Center: in particular, in introducing young people to the IT sector, strengthening partnerships and developing the industry as a whole. Current main priority for everyone is the technological leadership of Russia and I am positive that we will have productive cooperation with our colleagues, with many joint initiatives and projects ahead," said Sergey Grebennikov, director of the RAEC, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

In addition to the business program, Youth RIGF also facilitated several side events and educational master-classes where participants could acquire new practical skills. At one of these master-classes, the Center also presented its own analytical study "Youth in the IT industry: implementation in the profession, key points of growth, importance for the development of the country".

Overall organizers and participants expressed their desire to continue holding the Forum annually in order to meet again and provide new opportunities for dialogue and discussion for young people from Russia and around the world.
